Ankron is an independent provider of consulting and testing services for the maritime industry and supports ship owners, manufacturers and authorities in all areas of technical development, approval and proper operation of equipment and water treatment systems.


We use our experience with maritime and land-based water technologies for a qualified execution of tests and sampling and a state-of-the-art consulting service.

By taking over the organisational project coordination, we relieve our customers of the burden of dealing with the complex planning conditions and the regulatory requirements applicable in each case.



The IMO regulation BWM.2/Circ.70/Rev.1 requires a commissiong test after installation of Ballast Water Management Systems. It it used to check whether newly installed BWMS are mounted adequately and operate properly as defined in previous Type Approval
VGP or Vessel General Permit is a regulation of the U.S. EPA that requires regular monitoring of all discharges druing normal operation of a vessel in order to protect U.S. waters from consequences of uncontrolled pollution.
