Our project manager Eric Oellrich is busy with our R&D project on safe ballast water. In this week’s tests commonly used Tetraselmis algae (10-50µm) were used as
surrogate organism and different analysis methods like MPN, FDA/CMFDA, ATP were compared.
Ankron works on future methods of ballast water treatment as well as analysis methods and indicative tools together with our cooperation partners Zesys e. V. from Berlin and Biamol, an institute of the University of Applied Science Bremerhaven. The collaborative research project on next generation ballast water treatment is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
